Meet the Scientists 2013

in

JDRF San Diego is proud to announce that this year’s Meet the Scientist education and support event will once again be hosted by The La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology. This year’s event will take place on Saturday March 2nd from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The day will offer something for everyone including opportunities for children to learn about diabetes science at a kids level, presentations on T1D research for adults, a panel discussion on preparing for life on a college campus with T1D, guided lab tours and much more. This event is presented free of charge and lunch will be provided. The event is usually attended by over 200 guests so it is a great opportunity to meet others who face the daily struggles of T1D. Whether you are a family dealing with T1D, an adult with T1D or you know someone with T1D and want to learn more, we invite you to The La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology for Meet the Scientists 2013. The institute is located at 9420 Athena Circle, La Jolla, CA 92037.

About JDRF

JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease, JDRF is now the largest charitable supporter of T1D research. The goal of JDRF research is to improve the lives of all people affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners who share this goal.

Since its founding in 1970, JDRF has awarded more than $1.7 billion to diabetes research. Past JDRF efforts have helped to significantly advance the care of people with this disease, and have expanded the critical scientific understanding of T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. More than 80 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education.
